Microsoft 365 Copilot Wave 2 Event Scheduled for September 16

Microsoft has announced a special “Microsoft 365 Copilot Wave 2” event, set for September 16. The event will feature presentations by CEO Satya Nadella and VP of AI Jared Spataro and will be live-streamed on LinkedIn at 8:30 PM IST. The focus will be on the next phase of Copilot innovation.

One of the key highlights is the rebranding of many services. For example, “Copilot in Word” might be renamed “Microsoft 365 Copilot in Word”. This rebranding aims to make Copilot a more integral part of the Microsoft 365 suite.

Microsoft is also expected to introduce new features for Microsoft 365 Copilot. These features are designed to attract more businesses to their $30 per user per month subscription plan. Additionally, new features might be added to Copilot Pro, a $20 monthly subscription for consumers, although it hasn’t seen many updates since its launch.

In other news, Microsoft announced that new Windows AI features will be available on Intel and AMD laptops starting in November 2024. Previously, these features were only available on Qualcomm-powered devices. The upcoming features include Auto Super Resolution, speech-translating Live Captions, Windows Studio Effects, and Cocreator. Devices with the new Intel Core Ultra 200V and AMD Ryzen AI chips will get these features as a free update. Initially, some features will be available to all users, while Windows Insiders will test others before a wider release.
